Science and Engineering Club
Science and Engineering Club is one of our most popular after school activities. Guided by Mrs Lowe and Miss Walker the club is aimed at boosting confidence, motivation and attainment in core subjects, such as English, Maths, Science and Technology.
The club is a collaboration between different departments at Freebrough and provides students with an opportunity to experience Engineering in a number of different scenarios. Activities include practical experiments, external visits and residential trips. This year the residential visit took the group to London where they slept on board HMS Belfast, saw a West End show and visited The Science Museum. Students also get the chance to work with scientists and engineers from industry, both locally and nationally.
Sessions run each Tuesday evening from 2.45pm to 4.15pm. Students are provided with healthy snacks and refreshments. Transport home is parental responsibility however Science and Engineering Club members are able to use the late bus and a pass can be organised by Mrs Lowe.
If you are interested in joining Science and Engineering Club, please see Mrs Lowe.
